Every Saturday from May to October, the Wichmannsdorf bakery is transformed into a culinary hub for traditional baking. Fresh baked goods from the wood-fired oven and homemade cakes are on offer here between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. - all handmade and with a regional focus.
About two kilometers from the Baltic resort of Kühlungsborn, on the edge of the "Kühlung" nature reserve, lies the idyllic village of Wichmannsdorf - small, quiet and characterized by a lively community. Here, a local association is committed to cultural development and maintaining the quality of life in the village.
A special highlight is the bakery, which opens every two weeks on Saturdays from May to October. Visitors can expect a varied selection of freshly baked goods made exclusively with natural ingredients and no artificial additives. The assortment ranges from hearty wholemeal bread and aromatic root bread to bread roll variations with poppy seeds, emmer or as a rustic version. The range is complemented by a selection of popular sheet cake classics such as creamy sour cream cake, juicy poppy seed cake and fruity crumble cake.
Throughout the year, various events also enrich village life - including atmospheric gourmet evenings in winter, a traditional Easter bonfire and a communal village breakfast. Further dates and information can be found on the association's website.
